We thought the trip was really good. Got off to a bit of a late start so, not much time in Boston the first day. The rest of the trip in Salem was enjoyed. The museums were interesting and informative.

Beautiful day and a nice venue. Driver was great, and tour rep did a top notch job. Food was OK. Only negative was loading the buses at the end of show which took over a half hour for 7 buses.

Trip was nice. I would have preferred to see more of Boston, but that's just my opinion. Trip was mainly Salem. Because trip was late starting, we did not have time to go through Quincy Market. We rushed to find something to eat. We got a chowder then had to get back on the bus to eat. No time to actually enjoy a lunch or look around the market. 1st night drop off in the town of Salem was unimpressive. Most stores had already closed for the evening. Drop off in the mornings were the same. Had approx. an hour before anything opened. Salem Visitors Center opened 9:30. Most shops opened @ 10 am. The museums were interesting and informative. Trolly was nice and guided tour was nice. Loved the house of 7 gables, history of it was interesting. Stop at the Hammond Manson which was interesting. Not enough time in Gloucester. Some restaurants were closed or didn't have what we were looking for. Asked a local person where we could get seafood since they are known for the seafood. They recommended Seaport Grill, which was Fantastic, highly recommended. Unfortunately, we had to walk 15 minutes to get there, obviously it was our choice to go there. Did walk past the Gorton's plant. Not enough time in Gloucester. Driver was excellent especially driving the small roads through the towns, smooth ride. Tour guide was not as expected but understood it was her first visit there. She did give us her phone # in case we needed her. Was at designated museum stops. We all went our separate ways which is fine. The only complaint I have is the actual travel with the guide. I understand driver was 1/2 late due to error which is fine. Stopped at a Dunkin Donut on the way down which I don't think was necessary. Could have used that time for a few more minutes at Quincy Market. Travel on the way down was fine. Travel Back was not as it could have been. Guide stated we had to stop every two hours. Lest than two hours into the ride home we stopped at a McDonalds. Ok, Fine. Then she wanted to stop at another McDonalds for a second stop. She mentioned a truck stop was down the road but would be another 1/2 hour away. We got off the exit; at the end of the road there was no sigh to indicate if McDonalds was right or left. Passenger looked it up and found were to turn left. Down a winding road to a small shopping center that had nothing but a McDonalds open. It was dinner time by then but not every passenger wants or can have McDonalds. A few passengers went there; some stayed on the bus, some got out to walk around the parking lot to stretch legs. To me it wasted at least 1/2-hour time. We were approx. 1/4 of the way home when she informed us that we had to stop again but for gas. If they had stopped at a truck stop whoever wanted to go in the stop to get something to eat or use the facilities the driver could have or should have gassed up there. He should have gassed up before we left Salem. That is my only complaint. I have been on other bus trips with other companies & never had to stop so much. When you're on your way home from a long trip you just want to get home. We left Salem at 2:00 pm and arrived back at the mall approx. 10:30. A 5-, 5- & 1/2-hour trip to a destination should not take 8 & 1/2-hour tip home. Traffic issues are definitely understandable. There was traffic in the Hartford area because of the time of day but was not at a long standstill. Stopping every 2 hours is not a thing. If so, it should be stated in itinerary. Thank you.

Good and bad ! late pickup ; cut our visit to Quincy Market short (20 minutes) to get something to eat for lunch on the bus. I don't know that i was on a trip before that both the driver and the escort were NEVER there ! NOT PREPARED !!! Driver did a very good job , good driver considering --- he did not greet the people or get out of the bus except to load luggage; NO MUSIC ; NO MOVIES .... disappointing ... Boston was good. taken to Salem visitor center 1st evening 80% of places were closed - entire group ended up sitting on rocks or benches waiting for bus to pick us up. Hotel was very nice FOOD ??? same breakfast each morning - and just fair - scrambled egg, sausage and potato ---- why no variety fruit - pancakes - bacon - waffles.... disappointing. dinner nothing to brag about - i was one of the lucky ones -- that there was a choice when i got there i heard others on the bus were told ' sorry the others on your trip ate all the beef - there is nothing else for you, and they got the salad and vegetables that were left ! We enjoyed the trolley ride, guide very informative - the haunted witches tour in the evening was like running a marathon --- so not enjoyable ! 2 more evenings dropped off at Salem downtown - same stores - not all open ! We spent too much time there !!! Then the last day we really should have left earlier -- at same place until 2pm - dinner stop -- McDonalds . drive several more hours - and another stop to grab a bite --- McDonalds again --- TA stop to far (another 20 minutes) Not sure i would travel again too many other options Margaret McKeon
