HOTEL INFO
The original Natural Bridge Hotel was built in 1906, and expanded in 1917. The structure was destroyed by fire in 1964 and replaced by the present-day hotel, which was completed in 1965.
It is considered historic due to its affiliation with Thomas Jefferson, who purchased the site in 1774, and a long tradition of tourism dating back to at least 1833 when the Forest Inn was built to accommodate visitors to the Natural Bridge geological formation.
VENUE INFO
Natural Bridge State Park encompasses the 215-foot high limestone arch, a marvel of nature. Once a private resort owned by Thomas Jefferson, the landmark bridge is a major tourist attraction to Virginia's Shenandoah Valley and one of the oldest tourist attractions in the United States.
This geological formation, carved by Cedar Creek over millennia, is a National Historic Landmark. Visitors can hike the Cedar Creek Trail to walk underneath the arch, see the nearby Lace Falls, and explore the surrounding natural area.
The D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Va., is an inspiring tribute to the Allied troops and the insurmountable odds they overcame on June 6, 1944 to secure freedom for the world. This awe-inspiring memorial shares their stories and pays tribute to their valor, fidelity, and unimaginable sacrifice.
Bedford Boys Tribute Center pays homage to the 19 native sons of Bedford, Va. who were on the front lines during the Allied Normandy invasion. This museum is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive museum exclusively dedicated to furthering the legacies of all 38 “Bedford Boys.”
We'll visit Luray Caverns, nicknamed the Geology Hall of Fame, the largest cavern in the eastern United States, yet walking through it feels unlike any place on Earth.
Take a tour along lighted paved walkways that lead you through cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10 stories high, towering stone formations, and natural wonders at every turn.
