This Pulitzer Prize-winning 1949 play about Willy Loman, an aging, disillusioned traveling salesman struggling with the American Dream, family, and his own failures, told through a blend of reality, memory, and dreams. Considered a masterpiece of American theater, the tragedy critiques capitalism and explores themes of ambition, self-worth, and the gap between illusion and reality, culminating in Willy's tragic end and his family's reckoning with his life. 

Starring Nathan Lane, "Death of A Salesman" also won Tonys for Best Direction; Best Performance by an Actress in a Featured Role (Laurie Metcalf as Linda Loman); Best Scenic Design; Best Lighting Design; and Best Sound Design.

Recommended for ages 12 and older.

ITINERARY

11 a.m. – Estimated arrival in New York City with dropoff on 8th Avenue at 51st & 52nd streets

3-6:10 p.m. - "Death of a Salesman," Winter Garden Theatre, 1634 Broadway, New York NY (1 intermission)

7 p.m. – Depart New York City with pickup on 8th Avenue at 51st & 52nd streets. Please be at the pickup location by 6:30 p.m.

DROPOFFS

9 p.m. – Delaware Water Gap
10 p.m. – Scranton Bus Terminal
10:30p.m. - Wyoming Valley Mall

CANCELLATIONS

  • All sales are final.

  • Refunds will not be issued for tours -- no exceptions.

  • Therefore, we recommend travel insurance which is now being offered through our partner, Trip Mate. You may use this link to get a quote or to purchase the insurance.

  • If it becomes necessary for Martz Travel to cancel a tour, you will receive a full refund with the option of receiving a refund in the form of a gift certificate that may be redeemed for a future Martz Tour.

AGE RECOMMENDATIONS

"Death of a Salesman" is recommended for ages 12 and older.

PAYMENT 

Payment for all day trips must be made in full at the time of booking.

PARKING

  • Wyoming Valley Mall, Wilkes-Barre Township: Parking is free. Pickup is in the area of the Ken Pollock Service Center, site of the former Sears service center.

  • Scranton Bus Terminal, 30 Lackawanna Ave., Scranton: The $9 daily parking fee is being waived. Your parking pass will be included in your passenger packet before you board the bus. Please place the pass in your windshield. Parking passes will not be available in advance at the terminal. When you arrive at the bus terminal, do not enter from Lackawanna Avenue; this entryway is for buses only. Turn onto Cliff Avenue from Lackawanna Avenue, then make a left into the bus terminal parking lot.

  • Delaware Water Gap, 1082 Foxtown Hill Road, Stroudsburg: The $5 daily parking fee is being waived. Your parking pass will be included in your passenger packet before you board the bus. Please place the pass in your windshield. Parking passes will not be available in advance at the terminal.

MEALS

You are on your own for your meals while in New York City. It is suggested that you make dinner reservations beforehand. Restaurants near Radio City Music Hall.

ACCESSIBILITY

If you require special assistance getting on or off the bus, please make note of it in the Comments section when making your reservation.

WALKABILITY

You are responsible for getting around New York City throughout the day. There is an abundance of public transportation methods.

BUS SEATING

While we try our best to accommodate all requests, we cannot guarantee you will be assigned the seat of your choice. If you have a preference, please make note of it in the Comments section when booking your trip. Since we are committed to meeting the specific health and mobility needs of our passengers, the seating arrangements may change before our departure date.
