VENUE INFO
Tour the mansion at Mount Vernon and learn what the Washingtons, enslaved people and hired workers ate during this season. Learn how food was grown, preserved, prepared, and served during the holiday season. Watch 18th-century demonstrations and hear stories of Christmases past from costumed characters.
We will stop at the Pathway of Peace to see the National Christmas Tree which is surrounded by 56 state, district, and territory trees. The trees are decorated by school children chosen from each state.
Embassy Row, located along Massachusetts Avenue, is the home of embassies, associations, foundations and clubs. Many of these mansions were built by powerful and socially elite individuals after the Civil War. When the Great Depression hit, many of the families went broke.
One of the most elegant mansions in Washington is Hillwood Estate, Museum and Gardens, former home of cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post. This glorious estate transforms into a winter wonderland at Christmas with festive holiday decor, including trees and floral arrangements inspired by Post's life and collections, as well as special exhibitions.
We have reserved seating for "A Christmas Carol" at the historic Ford's Theatre where the legacy of President Lincoln lives on.
A visit to Arlington National Cemetery is always a solemn event and this sacred square mile is especially beautiful every winter with the tradition of Wreaths Across America.
Note: You will have to present your real ID to gain entrance to the cemetery.
Established in 1820, the U.S. Botanic Garden features a living history of poinsettias in colors ranging from classic reds to pink, speckled and white. It is one of the oldest botanical sites in North America.
The People's House: A White House Experience offers a new, cutting-edge educational experience that tells the story of the Executive Mansion, its inhabitants and the people who have dedicated their careers to its functions.

Breakfast will be served on Days 2 through 4 in the hotel. The breakfast on the fourth day will be a light breakfast since we will travel to Tony & Joe's Seafood Place for a brunch buffet consisting of breakfast items, cheeseburger sliders and wings and a choice of mimosa, bloody Mary, beer or wine (one per person).
Dinner on the first night is a Jula's on the Potomac, which serves classic Americana fare with a stunning view of the river.
The Portofino Restaurant will host our group on the second night. This Arlington restaurant serves fine northern Italian fare based on family recipes. The menu will be announced as we get closer to the date.
