HOTEL INFO
Captain Thomson’s Resort is a two-story resort located in Alexandria Bay, N.Y., on the St. Lawrence River. It is within walking distance of the downtown area and adjacent to the area where we will board the boats for the cruises and have breakfast and dinner.
VENUE INFO
Antique Boat Museum, in Clayton, N.Y., is the premier freshwater boating museum in North America with a collection of more than 320 unique boats and thousands of related artifacts and archives.
Singer Castle on the seven-acre Dark Island includes a four-story, 28-room castle and related structures. It remained in the possession of the original owners, the Bourne family, from its construction in 1905 until the mid-1960s. Frederick Bourne was the fifth president of the Singer Sewing Machine Co.
Thousand Islands Winery, owned and operated by Steve and Erika Conaway, opened to the public in 2003 and now produces more than 50,000 gallons of wine annually and 23 varieties ranging from dry to fruit and dessert wines.
Our Two-Nation Luncheon Cruise and our cruise to Boldt and Singer castles will be hosted by Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours which is adjacent to Captain Thomson’s and offers cruises along the St. Lawrence River to many of the islands and castles within the Thousand Islands area.
Construction on the ornate Boldt Castle began in 1900 by hotel magnate George C. Boldt as a tribute to his beloved wife Louise who, sadly, died several months before the estate was completed.
